Matchbox Theater presents: euphoria, bike wheels, music for dancing, silence, an adventure, bodies, Philadelphia: Your Hometown, intimacy (or at least proximity), something beautiful, a second silence (this one lasting a long, long time), a story that you’ve already heard, wonder, and one small truth.

Matchbox Theater Company creates immersive stories and spaces, fusing movement, music, craft, shared lore, and celebratory experiences into performance. Our members—Colin Aarons, Jessie Bear, Emma Ferguson, Daniel Perelstein, Sasha Shahidi, and Jacqueline Vitale—have been producing theater together at Swarthmore College for four years. In Preparations For Departure, the six of us are all contributing as actors, directors, designers, musicians, dancers, and playwrights.
