Theater, 50 minutes
Philly Fringe
Come see two silent performers act out everyday events with a comic twist. This nonstop action show recalls the frenzied hijinks of Charlie Chaplin and the poetic movement of pantomime artist Marcel Marceau. Fun for all with live vaudeville piano accompaniment by local professor Don Kawash.

Keyspeak, the company name of the silent comedy group Pumpernickel and Marmalade, consists of four performers. Inspired by expiring arts like pantomime and the actors who entertained audiences before films had sound, Keyspeak draws on and revives the richness of silent expression for its timeless appeal. Andy Pettit, the company founder and principal performer, wrote and directed The Audition for the 2008 Philly Fringe. Max Pettit, the other principal performer, has considerable stage experience and attends Philly's high school CAPA where he studies theater. Don Kaywash, on pianofortisimo, has played area theatres for 35 years including for Nunsense last March at Devon. Carol Veach, the sign lady, wrestles lawyers and has appeared in countless productions at Old Academy theater in East Falls.
