Created by husband-and-wife team Josh McIlvain and Deborah Crocker, SmokeyScout Productions' first show Confessions of a Plate and Shoe had a nearly sold-out run for a week in New York City. Boat Hole opens at the Performance Garage September 15. With carefully designed lighting, the enormous open stage is transformed into four distinct sets where set and costume changes become part of the performance. Josh McIlvain is a Philadelphia-based playwright who's had nearly one-hundred productions of some sixty plays throughout the U.S., Canada, and the U.K., including 28 New York productions. His short play Privates Investigator was featured in the 2009 Philly Fringe (4Play, Secret Room Theatre, "With wit that redirects like a great sleight-of-hand trick." Phawker).
