Late Night Cabaret
From punk and rock to electronica and hip hop, Philadelphia has a pulsing music scene. This year we spotlight the scene.
We have asked some of Philadelphia's best to host nights: Pig Iron Theatre Company, Joey Sweeney/Philebrity, and Tayyib Smith and Axis Music Group, to name a few.
Catch great music with Cynthia Hopkins' band Gloria Deluxe premieres a new soundtrack, Philly favorites Animus, Pattern Is Movement, and Unlikely Cowboy. The line up features new artists, Pattern as Movement (rock) and soulful rock with Sonji.
For theater and improv fans we bring feature the HATG Theater Company's Starving Artists' Monologue Slam, and Don Montrey's DIE ACTOR DIE - featuring Philadelphia actors Tony Lawton, Scott Greer, and Lee Etzold.
Filmmaker, Maori Karmael Holmes brings music films to the festival with, "Freestyle: The Art of Rhyme" and "End of the Century: The Story of the Ramones" with live performances Nouveau Riche (Philly) and Malene Younglao (NYC).
The Cabaret is located at 829-51 N. American Street.

8:00pm - Fifth Annual Rockies
The annual award ceremony is a chance for Philadelphia dancers to honor their peers. The 10 winners from the previous year choose what they found most outstanding from the current season in categories of their own design. And of course the evening is liberally sprinkled with specially design Rockys performances and hijinx. Tuesday, September 5th

Music in Motion
A film series about music accompanied by bands at the Live Arts Cabaret Curated by Maori Karmael Holmes for the Philadelphia Live Arts Festival Filmmaker Maori Karmael Holmes brings music films to the festival ending with, "End of the Century: The Story of the Ramones", followed by a Q&A with directors Jim Fields and Michael Gramaglia moderated by filmmaker/punk poet Walidah Imarisha.
